Hailing from Victoria, Australia, architect and designer Andrew Maynard proposes a bold and clever solution for the second incarnation of the Global Rescue Station (GRS 2). The modular box-like enclosed structures distribute their load among several trees as opposed to just one, thereby efficiently safeguarding multiple trees per station while ensuring sturdy support. The structures also protect activists from harsh winter conditions, allowing them to man the stations year-round, hindering authoritative interference. Maynard's concept for GRS 2 replenishes hope in all tree-hugging hearts for the salvation of what is left of the Styx Valley Forest.
